“10 Things I Want to Do Before I Turn 40” Series Review (Ep.3 to 12)
Age has a tendency to make people more afraid of choices. I think a lot of that has to do with overthinking everything that could go wrong when you’ve already been through years of trying to figure life out day by day. As a woman in my forties, I certainly overthink things way more than I used to in my twenties. And the same goes for Suzume in the Japanese BL 10 Things I Want to Do Before I Turn 40 (adapted from the manga 40 Made ni Shitai 10 no Koto by Mamita).

“Stay By My Side After the Rain” Series Review (Ep.3 to 12)
We often make love more complicated than love actually is. Love is more than an emotion, it’s a deep look at ourselves.

BL Week in Review
KristSingto and EarthMix were both fabulous, and I’m so glad I got to participate in that experience! I discussed it fully last Tuesday during BL Week in Review, which is always a fun time. Thank you all for participating. Don’t forget to join us. It’s on Tuesdays at 6 PM PST on the BL Xpress YouTube channel.
BL Mini-Bytes
We had a rather peaceful week with fewer updates dropping by from each quarter. The number of shows has also panned out with lesser releases last weekend. Let’s enjoy the peace until it exists before the downpour ensues!
BL Week in Review
Eight series ended this week, and we only have one new series beginning next week. I think we are finally getting some breathing room for a minute.
I enjoyed “The Proper Way to Write Love”, “Memoir of Rati”, and “The Promise of the Soul” enough to recommend them here. Each series had a unique premise and was easy to follow. I believe “The Proper Way to Write Love” had the best execution, but “Memoir of Rati” certainly follows close behind. Anyway, they would make a fun binge session for a weekend where you just need to relax.
BL Mini-Bytes
The whirlwind of exclusives from the BL/GL doesn’t seem to be ceasing anytime soon. One show ends, and we have the announcement for the follow-up. Especially the Japanese shores are churning out dramas at an alarming rate!

“The Proper Way to Write Love” Series Review (Ep.3 to 8)
Is there truly a proper way to love?
Love is a language that isn’t spoken the same way by anyone, which means it’s an unspoken language that’s the hardest to translate. For me, that’s precisely what The Proper Way to Write Love was all about: two men learning to read each other’s hearts, even when their pasts made it almost impossible.

BL Week in Review
School wore me out this week, and consequently, I find myself here on Saturday evening, playing catch up. I looked at my social media and realized I hadn’t posted any reviews most of the week, which is unusual for me. Still, I’m glad I’m able to write this article each week and reflect upon all that happened, since there’s always quite a bit going on.
