Frankly, we weren’t even surprised by this year’s results. We got a choke hold of BL pairings that have us hooked, booked & cooked. Some new and innovative, others old yet unique in their consistency. While most BL couples on this list are well known and their chemistry is a hit, we had a few new entrants adding to the glory of this fast-evolving genre. People have spoken and Awards are being handed, to the rightful owners. With the sudden rise in BL productions, audiences are no longer hindered by availability. Either, the shows are streaming on YouTube or international platforms. So, what sets them apart? Quality is invariably better than quantity. The choices weren’t surprising, but pretty consistent.

In a genre littered with stereotypical stories that have either school settings or are programmed into engineering colleges, storylines with horror or supernatural elements are just a few. You can name them on your fingers and even that doesn’t include those with commendable performances. This week, so many series began and ended that it almost gave me whiplash. Still, there were some highlights.

“Chosen Home” is a queer drama from Japan that made me smile through the entire episode. I wouldn’t call it BL. Still, it had a strong found-family element that I adored.

The big news on the street this week in Thai BL was the drop of the teaser for “Knot”, which is the new project from MFlow Entertainment. It is an omegaverse series that will star Boat and Oat, who recently did “My Stubborn”. Honestly, I think they are perfectly suited for the kind of tension needed for an omegaverse, and I’m excited to see what they do with it.

The best part of the Thai BL live-action series year is upon us, and that is the lineups for next year. So far, we know that WeTV’s lineup will be on November 4. Rumor has it that GMMTV’s lineup will be sometime during October. I swear that those moments make it feel like Christmas for a BL lover like me.

What do you do when there are so many fabulous BL series happening at the same time? Every day becomes a lazy couch potato day.

Seriously, though, Saturdays have so many great series currently airing. My favorite is probably “Khemjira” still, but “Revamp” is fun, and “The Wicked Game” has now started. I may or may not have spent all of yesterday on the couch.
