GMMTV’s latest high school romance “Dangerous Romance” uses the age old trope of “Poor vs Rich”, where we have the rich “Kanghan” Krittin Sukprasoet (Perth Tanapon, Love by Chance S1 & S2) and Sailom Homchan (Chimon Wachirawit, Ghost Ships) playing the main lead couple. This series has a distinct “My Gear your Gown” kind of vibes with better writing but better performances. With that being said, I am honestly enjoying this show. Unlike “My Gear your Gown”, which was lacking in chemistry, “Dangerous Romance” delivers. I like the slight differences in the two series. Like hundreds of previous teenage dramas, we have another school setting for this show as well. But I am kind of okay with it as we get to watch the characters grow and mature. I feel this series would not be as good if it didn’t have a school setting like this.

Producing a BL show with a decent storyline isn’t an easy job; it is even more difficult when you are based in a conservative society like Hong Kong. From procuring funds to the running the show, Actor/Producer Bosco TSE’s stuck gold after almost three years of hardship. We are talking about the recently on-air miniseries “Stay Still”. A Korean remake of the Thai BL of the same name, Why R U? enters the BL scene much the way its predecessor did. Starring Lee Jung Min (Jung Lee Won), Lee Ye Hwan (Kim Ji Oh), Lee Sang Min (Woo Sun Woo), and Park Chang Hoon (Ko Yoo Kyeom), Why R U? delves into a myriad of onscreen burgeoning love-hate relationships taking place under the potentially fantastical page-to-reality trope.

Since mainstream Hong Kong cinema is still quite conservative, there are very few films depicting issues relevant to the LGBTQ+ community. At its heart, although there are productions like Happy Together, Twilight’s Kiss/Suk Suk, A Woman is a Woman, Butterfly and the most recent BL adaptation “Ossan’s Love”, queer storylines are still begging for attention and a proactive audience. In the midst of these struggles, we have a small, lesser known production from Hong Kong who is trying to bridge the distance between dreams and reality. And joining them on this crusade are a talented crew of actors who are delivering their daring acts with conviction. Join us as we talk to actors Jeremy HO and Louis LAM from “Stay Still” about the change they want to project with their on-air romance!

Written and directed by Jojo Tichakorn (whose written and directed many shows for GMMTV), the highly anticipated series “Only Friends” debuted on YouTube. So, I knew what to expect going into this spastic hyper sexual series that surrounds six college friends and the antics they get into. Many familiar actors from multiple series pop up in this drama in quite a few surprising ways, mainly because the cameos weren’t mentioned in any of the trailers that were released online. So, I treat them as cupcakes meant to delight longtime fans of Jojo’s work catalog.
