“The Boy Next Door” Series Review (Ep.1 to 15)

Based on the web comic “Handsome Men” by Bae Chul Wan,”The Boy Next Door” follows the misadventures of two single college men, Park Kyu Tae (Choi Woo Shik) and his neighbor Sung Ji Jae (Jang Ki Yong). The two are your average guys who happen to find themselves smoking on the balcony at the same time. Sung Ji Jae, who is typically shy but doesn’t want to be rude and not acknowledge Park Kyu Tae, tries to strike up conversations; which generally lead nowhere. But due to their sense of pride and faulty wiring, they both end up as roommates.

“Long Time No See” Series Review (Ep.1 to 5)

“Long Time No See” is a 5 episode action-packed series about two mafia enforcers, whose serendipitous or duplicitous circumstances meet and begin a romance. It was one I didn’t know existed back then in 2017 when it was being made and first premiered. The series stars Tak Woo Suk as Chi Soo aka Flying Dagger and Yeon Seung Ho as Gitae aka Wild Dog. The net series features a small cast of characters. Chi Soo’s adoptive father Black Rose (Independent Mafia leader) is played by Kim Myung Hwan who is the brother of Black Leopard played by Won Tae San. Black Leopard’s criminal organization was the one Chi Soo and Black Rose belonged to before he took his son and went his own way. Rounding out the cast is Gitae’s elder sister (Her name was never mentioned) played by Ra Sun Young. She is more like a mother to Gitae as their parents weren’t around for again unmentioned reasons.

“What Did You Eat Yesterday” Movie Review

Summary:

Kakei Shiro is a 45-year-old lawyer who works at a small law firm. He is good at cooking and a meticulous and thrifty person who keeps the monthly food budget to 25,000 yen. Shiro’s daily routine is to leave work on time and head to a discount supermarket nearby. His partner Yabuki Kenji is an affable hairdresser in his 40s.

The two of them share a two-bedroom apartment and the finer points of two men living together come up at the dining table every day. Although two of them have been in a relationship for three years and Kakei’s parents know he is gay, Kakei never shares the fact that he is gay or Kenji is his partner to anyone.
