This week, we got the best surprise. “Jack and Joker special episode” aired, and I must say that it was an excellent movie-length episode filled with action and angst. Word to the wise, watch beyond the end credits. You won’t regret it.

BL Week in Review
This week, two major Thai platforms dropped previews for their upcoming series and I am super excited for some of them.
BL Mini-Bytes+ Domundi Lineup 2025
Quite exciting stuff happened over last week. Coupled with the Domundi Lineup which was extensive and lit, there was a downpour of dramas from the BL/GL world. We had a tough time keeping up, but it’s our job to bring you the latest buzz, so buckle up!

We had some early releases in the first week of January and although the news updates might seem tad late, it is our job to deliver the exclusives to your doorstep. Some anticipated releases have made their way to Gagaoolala, and we are pretty sure you must be dying to watch them!
“Haunted Hearts” Series Review (Ep.1 to 7)
Hidden gem. That is what this series is. While it is not perfect, it certainly is one of the more entertaining BLs of this year. To be sure, most Filipino BLs are a bit more adventuresome in their amorous scenes, which made this series surprisingly tame. Yet it does have a smorgasbord of everything in it. Horror, comedy, romance, pathos, redemption, and a heaping amount of love. And for me, it will be something I shall watch around Halloween every year. It is one of those series that makes you feel good about a holiday and in this case that is most definitely Halloween. It shall be my Halloween BL classic to watch every year!

“My Day The Series” Series Review (Ep.1 to 12)
This is a classic. When it first arrived on the stage in 2020, it was quite notable. In a sense, it was refreshingly different because it dealt with more adult content. However, it is a roller coaster of a series, honestly. This is one of those series that everyone will profess to dislike but secretly love. It is a guilty pleasure for sure.

My Favorite Asian BLs So Far (2024)
Admittedly, my favorite Asian BLs for this year (so far) is an eclectic mix and perhaps not of a ‘mainstream’ conformity. I am an individual who does not follow any set of rules in establishing what I find to be my favorite. Therefore, I tend to not like what most others find as fashionable or currently trending. I am also not an avid follower of any particular BL artist, although I do think some actors are better than others.
“Sky Valley” Series Review (Ep.1 to 13)
This series is best described by the beginning line from Charles Dickens novel, “A Tale of Two Cities”: “It was the best of times; it was the worst of times.” In other words, this story had such salient and poignant moments in it and then it slipped into cartoonish and hackneyed over-the-top silliness, not worthy of the story. It almost seemed schizophrenic in nature.
