You curse at the main lead’s psychotic behavioral patterns and wonder if they will ever get cured. At times, you even wish that their so-called love victims might escape their clutches. Sometimes story ideas come along that are so dumb and so mind-numbingly bad, you wonder how you sat through it without completely losing your own sense of reality. Honestly, this is one of the dumbest ideas for a plot I have seen and even adding adorably cute kids to the mix could not salvage this mess. You know you are also in trouble when throughout the series, flashbacks while the protagonists were in college 5 years previously looking the same as they do now. When a series that relies so heavily on days-gone-by without considering that they might have changed in 5 years, you know you have a weak story, and this is one of the most mediocre BLs I have ever seen.
With Valentine’s galore, the second week of February saw a steady stream of news & exclusives strumming from all sides. The upcoming releases are all lined up, while we have some surprising new announcements as well!
Historical dramas have a charm of their own. Most of them are relegated to the timeline between the 1930s & 1960s, when western culture was slowly being adopted into the Asian subcontinent. These dramas feature settings that have traditional styles but modern vibes; costumes that betray the local culture whilst the citizens are adapting to a western mindset. Despite that, homophobia was still rampant and that remains at the forefront in most BL- themed shows.
