Weekly BL Updates
After a short hiatus last week, we are back with our weekly feature on BL announcements. Let’s take a dive into the Boys’ Love shores!
“House of Stars” First Impressions (Ep.1 & 2)
In the spirit of “War of Y” comes another Thai BL series that takes a look at the fictional world of actors, actresses and the woman who runs their lives.

“Midnight Love” Movie Review
This mini-movie appears to be more like an ‘after-school’ project and perhaps held together with chewing gum and glue. This is never going to win any awards nor be on any top 10 list. However, it did do something for me that so many BLs, especially Thai, do not do for me anymore. And that is, it made me smile. It made my eyes tear up. It also made me reflect. Further, it made me see how so, so many everyday ordinary gay relationships begin. This gem captured the heart and soul of a humanity that is not often portrayed. A humanity of individuals whose beauty lies within, not without, whose goodness is inherent, not extrinsic, and whose fortitude is who they are. It is a story of genuineness and strength of character. It is a story of life. And most importantly, it is a simple, basic story of love.
“Step by Step” First Impressions (Ep.1 to 3)
Boy meets boy, engineering faculty meets medical students, good boy meets bad boy- these are all tropes that Thai BL series have used countless times over the years. In 2023, the trend seems to be “Sexy boss meets an adorable Subordinate” as is the case in “A Boss and a Babe” and “Step by Step”. The difference between both lies in the main characters of the two shows. While “A Boss and a Babe” has Laem, a headstrong, over confident intern, “Step by Step” has Pat, a very shy and very timid subordinate. The two bosses seem different as well. While “A Boss and a Babe” has Gun, a headstrong, gay Boss, “Step by Step” has Jeng, a very domineering but headstrong manager who has to learn how to care about his employees.

“Future” Series Review (Ep.1 to 6)
Future is the new installation in the En of Love saga. We started with TOSSARRA, then Love Mechanics and finally, This is Love Story. The prequels were very well done, and I liked how all characters were intertwined in all these stories. We get to see all our favorite characters from the previous three series. My favorite couple are Gun Tossakan and Bar Sarawat. Alongside we have Mark, Vee, Pra-Ram, and Nuea.
Star Hunter Entertainment “STH Project” 2023 Lineup
The Star Hunter Lineup came a little later in the year than we would have anticipated, nonetheless they delivered a solid queue of projects that fans can look forward to in the days to come. The event was graced by new and familiar faces, and though we were a little disappointed not to see our favorite actors headlining the majority of shows, we appreciate the direction the production company has decided to take. Like the saying goes ‘New Is Always Better’. On that note, let’s take a look at what we can expect from Star Hunter in 2023:

“Chains of Heart” Series Review (Ep.3 to 10)
Does true love conquer all? The ten episodic Thai drama series Chains of Heart concluded with a series finale that left social media in a state of disarray. Ken (Haii Sarunasathorn), a young man who spent two years dealing with the violent conclusion of his relationship with Din (Kut Tanawat). That conclusion came in the form of a bullet taking the pair over a mountain cliff’s edge. How Ken came back alive to mourn the loss of his lover and the fate of Din is the central plot of this epic saga.
