*sigh* EmiBonnie in another boring romance*sigh*
Following their debut as an official pairing in the 2025 sapphic adaptation “Us”, Emi Thasorn & Bonnie Pattraphus won hearts with their natural chemistry. Bonnie’s playful synergy compliments Emi’s mature act. Recently, they were paired in the special episodes of “Me & Thee” and the potential was recognizable. But what keeps tipping the scales is that they are given scripts that barely scratch the surface of their talents. “Moonshadow” is one such project. Adapted from the novel “Moon Shadow” (เงาใต้พระจันทร์) by Flower of Memory (ดอกไม้แห่งความทรงจำ), Emi stars as a rich heiress and Bonnie as a sexy temptress who wishes to become her sugar baby. The key giveaway in this show was Film Rachanun. She played the third angle in this love story and her act was convincingly executed.
Storyline & Chemistry-

Chan (Emi Thasorn), a successful businesswoman, ends up having a one-night stand with Key (Bonnie Pattraphus). Although Chan has no intention of taking things any further, the mischievous and charming Key boldly proposes that Chan keep her as her sugar baby. Chan initially accepts her proposal simply because she is curious about Key. As they spend time together, Key repeatedly breaks the barriers that Chan has built around herself. As they get closer, Jay (Film Rachanun), Chan’s first love, reappears, throwing their romance into turmoil. Chan had given up on relationships & commitments after Jay got married to someone else. Freshly divorced, Jay returns to reconcile with Chan, only to receive steep refusal again & again. While Chan appears unaffected, Jay’s presence perturbed her greatly. Key stays beside her and as time passes, Chan chooses her. But Key has her own demons to face. Born in an influential family, Key’s mother was the mistress and she committed suicide. Key blames herself for her mother’s death. Chan tries her best to alleviate her fears and comforts her. As they reconcile, Chan’s mother disagrees with their relationship. Chan defies her mother and chooses Key again. They happily get married after Key wins over Chan’s mother.
Chemistry was never the problem between Emi & Bonnie, scripts are. The stories chosen for them are plain boring. I liked them better in the special episodes of “Me & Thee” where Emi plays a bodyguard and Bonnie is the owner’s sister-in-law. I wish they got challenging roles like these.
Final Impressions

EmiBonnie’s chemistry shines through in every scene, but I wish they got better scripts!!
The comfort levels they share are visible in the NC scenes. “Moonshadow” wasn’t a bad show per se. I didn’t enjoy it much. Film makes her presence known with her strong performance. She really plays morally grey characters quite well. At the end of the day, GMMTV really needs to purchase better stories for their sapphic pairings and promote them well!!
