“23.5” First Impressions (Ep.1 to 3)

Really Wholesome Slice of life GL, with pinch of everything.

Ongsa’s (Milk Pansa) high school life will never be the same when she carelessly wishes her cute and cheerful classmate Sun (Love Pattranite) “sweet dreams” using the Instagram name Earth. Unfortunately, the masculine name leads Sun to believe she’s talking to a guy, but Ongsa doesn’t want to lose the opportunity to talk to her. She chooses to keep it a secret and go on talking to Sun as Earth. “23.5” is a really engaging coming of age drama which reminds us of our first crush, first love and all those beautiful feelings that are reminiscent of those memories. After watching the first three episodes of the show, I became hooked immediately and honestly can’t wait for more. The appealing story line coupled with the irresistible and engaging cast members make it impossible to skip the episodes. It’s not a fresh story line but the way that story has been executed is so cute and endearing that I was giggling all along while watching.

The first time Ongsa sees Sun is what we call the look of love, it’s so beautifully portrayed that it’s precious and Milk does a fantastic job playing the character; her chemistry with Love feels really innocent and winsome. I am really looking forward to seeing them evolve and get together. I am eagerly waiting for the budding romance between the second couple, Aylin (View Benyapa) & Luna (June Wanwimol). I love the fact that this show does not propagate hatred, all the people are so supportive. Everyone needs friends like theirs in real life. Though I am hoping that the scriptwriters don’t draw out the story too much and keep it fresh till the end; because most of the time it happens that the audience gets invested in a show and then at the end of the show they are left with nothing but disappointment.

Overall the show is engaging and wholesome with a really sweet and endearing cast; some really beautiful cinematography, everything feels so colorful and the scenes are not all-over the place.
