GMMTV Line Up 2024 Part II

Thai media giant GMMTV will be holding the second part of their 2024 lineup on 23rd April. With a huge influx of actors from other companies, that includes prominent names like Boun-Noppanut, Santa-Pongsapak & Prem-Warut and Fluke Wongpian (My Ride The Series, The Whisperer), the second part holds promising premises to be unrivaled. What BL/GL shows or new pairings are you anticipating?

The Time of Huannan

A combination of youth, BL, and traveling through time and space, upcoming Taiwanese movie “The Time of Huannan” stars Hsia Teng Hung & Edison Song in the lead roles of Chen Yao Hua/Liu Yong Hui & Chen Bao Ding. The movie has an ensemble casting that includes popular stars who have previously worked in BL works like Edison Song (HIStory: Stay Away From Me), Chu Meng Hsuan (HIStory2: Right or Wrong), Hsia Teng Hung (We Best Love), Tom Wang (Dark Blue and Moonlight) and Yu Jin (My Tooth Your Love). Premieres on May 31st 2024.

Synopsis-

Taipei City in 2022 is a dynamic, exciting and vibrant city! “Huannan” is a traditional market that sits on the triangle formed by the Tamsui River and Xindian River. It has served as the major food and beverage market for the entire capital city for over 55 years. Our tale is set in 1991. As with the unique market, secret ingredients are thrown into the story of the Huannan Gang. At that time, everyone knew that the gang was of three boys and one girl, but no one knew that the youngest member was from 2022.

Running Like A Shooting Star

Chinese Bromances/ BL adaptations seem to be on the rise these days. To tide over the censorship issues, most streaming portals are releasing all the episodes in one go. Added to that list is “Running Like A Shooting Star” which premiered on 17th April (IQIYI). The show stars Gan Wang Xing as sports prodigy Qi Tian who returns to sprinting track with the help of his clingy senior, Xue Yi Ran (Jin Xiao).

My Marvelous Dream is You

Promotions are in full swing for the upcoming Thai GL “My Marvelous Dream is You”. Idol Factory has released a second teaser showcasing the chemistry between the main leads. Adapted from the novel “Dream” by Chao Planoy, the show stars Fay Kanyaphat as Dawan & May Yada as Khimhan. Premieres 8th May, on Idol Factory YouTube.

Wandee Goodday

The next show from GMMTV’s 2024 Lineup, “Wandee Goodday” is set to premiere on 4th May, 2024. Adapted from the novel “Wandee Witthaya” (วันดีวิทยา) by Nottakorn (นทกร), the show stars Great Sapol & Inn Sarin Ronnakiat as a doctor and a boxer whose tumultuous relationship changes as they go from “Fake” to “Real”. Also, stars Thor Thinnaphan & Fluke Nattanon as the supporting couple, Oye & Cher.

Synopsis-

Because of a broken heart and drunkenness, Dr. Wandee goes from darling to daring, entangling himself with fighter Yo Yak Padejsuk. A one-night stand somehow turns into a boyfriends with benefits relationship. Though it’s only a fake relationship, feelings creep up that the two don’t dare accept when they each have someone else lingering in their hearts.

Let’s Eat Together Aki and Haru Season Two

Fresh stills released for “Let’s Eat Together Aki and Haru” sequel. Adapted from the manga “Aki wa Haru to Gohan wo Tabetai” by Tajima Makoto, Akazawa Ryotaro & Takahashi Kensuke will be reprising their roles as Aki & Haru. The movie focuses on their life after graduation as they both receive job offers in different cities. Uncertainty colors their relationship as Aki hides his feelings for Haru. On the other hand, Haru feels sad about moving to Osaka. Set to premiere on 14th June.

What The Nong

Adapted from the novel “What’s the Nong?” by I’m Mynt, “What The Nong” stars Kongphom Farwaeroj & Sky Chaithawat in lead roles. Depicts the romance between Meen, a medical student & Tully, an engineering student. Love blossoms when Meen starts tutoring Tully.

The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio

Adapted from Kou Nigatsu’s Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote, “The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio” is currently streaming on Crunchyroll. Miku Itou and Moe Toyota star in the leading roles as Yasumi Utatane and Yuuhi Yuugure. A Girls’ Love, comedy light novel, the anime chronicles their “Enemies to Lover’s” journey!

Synopsis-

Yuuhi Yuugure and Yasumi Utatane, two high school voice actresses who just happened to attend the same school and coincidentally got placed into the same class, are the two hosts of a radio weekly program. As fellow classmates and voice actresses, they show all the listeners their great friendship! At least, on the surface. In reality, the quiet girl Chika and the gyaru Yumiko are complete opposites. And they absolutely cannot stand each other. Off air, chaos and insults erupt. On air, they’re the best of friends. Just where will this tumultuous relationship lead them?
