I was the gay kid from a small Montana town. So when I went to college in Missoula—even though it was technically the same state—it felt like stepping into another universe. One where I could finally be anyone I wanted to be… which, for the first time ever, was just me.
Raw, gritty, and astonishingly bold. These are some of the adjustives that can be used to describe this parable from Nigeria. A country certainly not known for its embracement of homosexuality. In fact, it is just the opposite. This short series is both a BL and a LGBTQ+ saga, virtually impossible to separate one from the other. Its underpinning is as old and familiar as gayness itself. The story itself is abound with tropes and cliches about the vileness of queerness. But here, it is the way it is presented that makes it so unique. The protagonists are not familiar to the usual world of BL. They are not teenagers and are Black from a country steep in religious disapproval of gay behavior from both the Muslin and Christian faiths, compounded by a deep cultural conservatism heritage against anything resembling an attachment between two men.
Some stories don’t come at you in a rush. They happen gently and take their time unfolding, like a quiet walk home. My Sweetheart Jom is one of those stories.

I’m not particularly invested in GL shows, and yet we here, because there is only one way to describe LingOrm’s chemistry- swoon-worthy!

“The Ex-Morning” is a 2025 Thai BL drama that marks a highly anticipated reunion of Krist Perawat and Singto Prachaya, our beloved characters from SOTUS. I was excited about watching this show since the first teaser was released, because Krist and Singto have that undeniable chemistry and natural aura that make them look so good together.

There are catcalls and comments on the relationship status between these two; but this show is more romance than bromance!

This series starts very simply with Nu (Tora Toranin), who is considered a nerd because he wears glasses and gets in a minor accident after being hit by a car. The car belongs to our main lead, Sun (New Chunnawan) who is studying medicine in the same university as Nu. Moving on, Nu makes new friends in university who are connected to Sun’s friend or ex-friend Chain (Jame Supawit), which results in them crossing paths a lot and then results in them having drunken sex. From the first two episodes, it feels like Sun and his friends group as well as Chain are having some issues or there is some betrayal involved or maybe it’s a simple misunderstanding. Let’s see what the upcoming episode results in. Though the story of our main two leads isn’t very gripping or exciting, it is engaging!

There is so much to unpack in this short series. It is a prodigious tale as well. Initially, the way it was presented felt as if it might be a light, even comedic tongue-in-cheek story. Full of fun. But true to the nature of Vietnamese BLs, it emerges into realness. The human drama becomes honest, sincere, and relatable especially because of what happens when we simply are unable to truly be ourselves. It is a story of gayness and the inability to be free and open about who you are and the person you love. The Vietnamese have mastered the perfection of being able to portray these emotions with such intensity.
