“La Pluie The Series” First Impressions (Ep.1 to 3)

In an alternate universe where Thailand is perpetually rainy and soulmates exist, La Pluie traces the story of Tai, who suffers from sensorineural hearing loss every time it rains. The only voice he can hear then is that of his soulmate, but he is adamant about not giving said soulmate a chance due to having seen his parents’ (who are also soulmates) relationship deteriorate.

“What Did You Eat Yesterday” Series Review (Ep.1 to 12)

What Did You Eat Yesterday also called Kinou Nani Tabeta? is a Japanese BL comedy series about a live-in gay couple and their daily life activities. The main leads are a mature couple who are in their 40s, enjoy eating and cooking together a lot. Shiro (Hidetoshi Nishijima) and Kenji (Seiyou Uchino) are emotionally stable, normal gay couple. Both leads are strong and adorable in their own way.

“The Sting of Lavender” Series Review (Ep.1 to 8)

Before I dived into ‘The Sting of Lavender’, the only thing I knew about it was that it was the first queer show, set and created in India, that proudly proclaimed itself a BL series, rather than a gay romance, or a queer media, as Indian series have been wont to do. That piqued my interest, as I have been waiting for India to join the BL boom ever since more and more countries across South-East and East Asia started producing their own series.

“Step by Step” First Impressions (Ep.1 to 3)

Boy meets boy, engineering faculty meets medical students, good boy meets bad boy- these are all tropes that Thai BL series have used countless times over the years. In 2023, the trend seems to be “Sexy boss meets an adorable Subordinate” as is the case in “A Boss and a Babe” and “Step by Step”. The difference between both lies in the main characters of the two shows. While “A Boss and a Babe” has Laem, a headstrong, over confident intern, “Step by Step” has Pat, a very shy and very timid subordinate. The two bosses seem different as well. While “A Boss and a Babe” has Gun, a headstrong, gay Boss, “Step by Step” has Jeng, a very domineering but headstrong manager who has to learn how to care about his employees.

“Future” Series Review (Ep.1 to 6)

Future is the new installation in the En of Love saga. We started with TOSSARRA, then Love Mechanics and finally, This is Love Story. The prequels were very well done, and I liked how all characters were intertwined in all these stories. We get to see all our favorite characters from the previous three series. My favorite couple are Gun Tossakan and Bar Sarawat. Alongside we have Mark, Vee, Pra-Ram, and Nuea.

“The Day I Loved You” First Impressions (Ep.1 & 2)

The Day I Loved You starts off exactly as advertised. And I do mean that in the best way. It is a cute, fluffy BL set in high school, with a love triangle, unrequited love, sparks flying at the first meeting, prom, the whole shebang. It has kept me hooked after barely thirty minutes of content so far.
