As far as I recall, BL anime has always existed since the early 90s. Before BL dramas and movies became mainstream, BL animated series were essentially frontier films portraying male romance even though they were taboo in society.

Talking about a particular style of boys-love show with a sweet and adorable plot, I suppose Oxygen the Series has the correct vibe. I’ll go ahead and begin by providing you with a thorough synopsis of the series’ main themes.
This is a love story on different levels and complexities, all done very well. The central focus is on, however, an on-again-off-again-on-again unlikely gay relationship.
There’s a fine line between weakness and strength. In a society ruled by power, it isn’t always how well someone throws a punch that matters. It’s how well those punches can be covered up.
While non-BL media aren’t exactly representative of the queer culture, quite a few shows in the recent years have daringly showcased the life struggles of the LGBTQ community. The portrayal might be subtle, but it is nevertheless there and strongly hints at the beginnings of a revolutionary phase that might herald a change in the coming years. In today’s feature, our authors will be sharing information about such exemplary characters/couples!
Perhaps this theme has been told in several different ways, but its message remains relevant and worthy. However, to see, sense, feel, and experience the trials and tribulations of the past when it was ‘illegal’ to be homosexual (gay) still resonates today and bears being repeated lest we slip back into thinking that the good old days were somehow a Golden Age. They were not.
