The chaotic world of the BL/GL genre is buzzing with excitement. With “You Maniac” & “Mr. Fanboy” making its anticipated premiere last weekend, more shows are lined up for release. We have more shows running their workshops, fittings and filming is ensuing.
The BL/GL world is churning out new shows at a faster rate than before. This insurmountable growth is reckoning, and we are barely keeping up with the floodgate of updates that keeps pouring on a daily basis!!
GMMTV’s attempts to quantify their queer production is indeed praiseworthy. But can quantification guarantee quality as well? With 32 dramas up for production next year and quite a few from the 2025 Lineup, time management will be a big problem. Also, they have been recruiting new talents big time, but can they successfully manage these many artists and create new content for all of them? That remains to be seen!
