The casting directors for shows that recently premiered deserve a raise, simply because of their dedication to scout for some interesting pairings. In the midst of recurring couplings, few production houses are actually daring enough to promote new BL/GL couples, and we salute their courage to do so!

Joss Way-ar & Fluke Gawin, My Golden Blood

“My Golden Blood” is giving the erstwhile “Twilight” a run for its money and so is Joss Way-ar. As the hottest vampire in the campus, Joss is giving some tough competition to Edward and his Thai Bella, Gawin is equally endearing. This is Joss’s first major BL role after he made a distinct impression in the 2019 hit “3 Will Be Free”. While his chemistry was co-star Tay Tawan was much appreciated, Joss’s camaraderie with Gawin is a dream come dream for local & international fans who have eagerly anticipating the release of this vampire romance. Breaking all rules and subcultures bound by older versions, Joss’s Mark can walk through sunlight, doesn’t sleep in coffins and with some assistance from his future boyfriend, Tong can even taste delicious food. Above all, the way he reacts around Tong is so full of yearning and longing, you wish they would just kiss and make out. Joss & Gawin are redefining sensuality in a new manner and we are all in for a good ride!

Smart Chisanupong & Boom Raweewit, Top Form The Series

Must say, I had my own reservations about this couple. The evident age-gap being the first reason, I had already watched their early works (Smart in “Don’t Say No” and Boom in “Chains of Heart”) and wasn’t enamored with their roles. I had doubts about the kind of chemistry this adaptation demands and if SmartBoom could deliver. Certainly they did, because Akin-Jin are the current internet sensation. The pilot episodes set the stage on fire, and they just keep getting better each other. Their fiery chemistry is rewriting history and SmartBoom could very well became the next “IT Couple” of the Thai BL industry. In a genre, where BL pairings are quite often like revolving doors, it’s possible that SmartBoom might gain worldwide popularity and become transiently luminescent!

Junior Panachai & Mark Jiruntanin, Perfect 10 Liners

Possibly the most adorable couple in “Perfect 10 Liners” (some might prefer PerthSanta, we rest our case), JuniorMark had a mature storyline and even better chemistry. Like old wine, their camaraderie and screen presence has gotten better since their “Cherry Magic Thai” days when they were freshly paired. Faifa & Wine not only have the most healthy relationship, they are “Communication Kings”. It’s mostly Wine who always reaches out first and tries to resolve their problems, Faifa might seem slow on uptake; but he adores Wine and is always willing to talk things out. Wine is his comfort zone, the person who understands him the best. Junior & Mark literally embody the finer nuances of their characters and their chemistry is undeniably irresistible!

Mark Pakin & Ohm Thipakorn, Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist

The newest couple on the block, Mark & Ohm were paired together on popular demand from avid fans. The pilot episode premiered to high expectations and our cute couple have managed to keep the momentum. Mark & Ohm are endearingly sweet in the depictions of their character roles. The zeal and candor is riveting and their chemistry is refreshing. We can actually look forward to watching a fun filled romance with oodles of audacious humor sprinkled with adorable camaraderie!

Mac Alonzo & Larence Brenches, Sashes and Hearts

It is not very often that pairings get repeated in Pinoy BL industry. First paired together in “Haunted Hearts”, Mac & Larence are currently making waves as pageant competitors, Gin & Jarret in “Sashes & Hearts”. The handsome couple have an incredible chemistry, which enlivens the storyline, and they are the major highlight of this show. If you aren’t watching this web series, then you should; Gin & Jarret are serving hot visuals with some amazing chemistry. Don’t miss this potboiler, the duo are really worth exploring!

Sprite Itaree & Piano Pronyanee, I’m Your Moon

The last time we watched a reincarnation drama, we were really enamored with the chemistry between the main leads in “Until We Meet Again”. To recreate such taciturn romance is difficult and yet Sprite-Piano have managed the impossible. Set in the 1930s, the show depicts the impossible love story between two princesses, Phiangrawi & Sasinapha. They plan to elope because of the societal mindset which was against same sex relationships. Only Phiangrawi is killed and their dreams are never realized. Centuries later, they are reborn as Earl & Prey, heiress to families who share a long- standing feud. Sprite & Piano breeze through their performances in two different eras. Their characters, costumes and candor are quite different; you can mark the clear distinction. Their chemistry is equally riveting, as history rewrites itself!

Emi Thasorn & Bonnie Pattraphus, Us Series

This couple is currently winning hearts with their somber portrayal of two diffident, stubborn characters. Each have their own conviction, pain and sufferings. While Pam battles her feelings for Dokrak, while scheming against her father; Dokrak has financial issues and a broken household. Emi & Bonnie have a sensual chemistry, it is off-the-charts and an instant hit. Dokrak’s sweet and caring nature wins over Pam, and her revenge plan takes a backseat. The storyline has abundant potholes but the main couple’s chemistry is helping the show survive against all odds, and they are on their way to becoming the next popular couple in the GMMTV camp!

Kim Jun Seo, Cha Sun Hyung, Kim Ho Young, Cha Jung Woo, Secret Relationships

This is the first time that we are featuring four main leads as an aspiring couple. It is because the storyline is so complex that none of them can exist without the other; although Da-On does end up with Ju Seong Hyeon. Kim Jun Seo’s chemistry with each of his co-stars is insatiable and addictive. His impossible romance with Sin Jae Min is toxic and appalling, his relationship with Kim Su Hyeon is abusive and uncontrollable. Da-On has to face pain & suffering at the hands of the men that he trusted and loved. His journey is unbearably hard and the culmination leads to a carefree life with Ju Seong Hyeon, the only one who truly understands him. The dynamics between these four actors was so good that we couldn’t help but ship them together!
