Duang and his everyday hysterics became so endearing to me, I’m definitely going to miss him forever!!
When this show began, I wasn’t exactly enamored with Duang. He was an oddity, awfully positive, insanely invested in his love interest and particularly obsessed with winning him over. There isn’t much more to this show than these three premises- Duang pursuing Qin, Qin acting cold for two quarters acting cold while being genuinely intrigued, and the rest is about them falling in love mutually. It takes a lot of effort and herculean attempts to win over Qin’s heart, but in the end, it is worth it. As an avid audience, I was sad whenever Qin rebuked Duang, happy when they found the middle ground and ecstatic when they finally became official. “Duang With You” has a light-toned cadence, unlike most Domundi TV shows that lack substance and lean too much into NC scenes. The show doesn’t flex its need to bring forth a romance that is subjective; rather it immerses you into a lighthearted romance that can be endearing but also serious.
The Storyline & Chemistry-

It’s love at first sight for Duang (TeeTee Wanpichit) when he comes across Qin (Por Suppakarn), a popular but icy student from the Faculty of Music at the freshman’s orientation party. Overtly optimistic, impulsive yet insanely positive, Duang decides then and there, that Qin would be the love of his life. Easier said than done, because despite his handsome looks, Qin is reserved, lofty and somewhat arrogant. Apart from his close circle of friends, he doesn’t interact with anyone else much. Thus, begins the stalking, the valid “cat and mouse” game to win over Qin’s hearts. It’s the subtle moments that win over Qin ultimately as he slowly caves in to the golden retriever who loves him, despite that. Qin has major trauma from a childhood incident where he was abused by his caretaker. He resolutely believes that his parents don’t care much about him. As Duang & Qin grow closer, Duang helps them bridge the distance and become a whole family again. Add Duang’s chaotic family to this mix and we have a potboiler.
TeeTee & Por have amazing chemistry. The show requires them to tone down that chemistry initially, but it grows stronger later, when Qin grows vulnerable and turns to Duang for emotional support. The star of this show is obviously TeeTee. He easily embodies Duang chaotic energy, exaggerating overtures and lively personality. Even when he is sad or hurting, Duang always prioritizes Qin’s needs over everything else. To find someone like Duang in this age and time, is truly a miracle!!
Final Impressions

How can you not fall in love when someone adores you so much, that his entire world revolves around you??
From the day they met, Qin became Duang’s sole reason for existence. Some might be exasperated by his constant need to be around Qin. But ironically, his clingy nature becomes a balm to Qin’s abusive past. He has always been lonely and aloof. Being surrounded by Duang’s energy helps to tear down those high walls that he has build over years. Apart from them, the story heavily relies on the friends’ circle. Especially Duang’s friendship with Jamie (North Chatchapon). They fight like cats and dogs, but North would literally do anything if it made Duang happy. Jamie’s romance with Mars (Otto Sorranan) is quite underrated. They make a visual couple, have a striking chemistry, yet their dynamics weren’t properly visualized (or maybe the actors weren’t comfortable doing kissing scenes).
“Duang With You” is an experience that lives with you forever, a memory that you will never forget easily!!
