GMMTV certainly knows how to keep BL and GL fans busy, doesn’t it? Just when we think we’ve had enough announcements, the production house comes along with another exciting lineup, introducing new stories, unexpected pairings, familiar faces in unfamiliar dynamics and, of course, plenty of romance to look forward to!
With 36 projects making up the latest slate and an impressive 30 featuring queer content (BL+GL+Bromance), there’s certainly no shortage of BL and GL stories for fans to get excited about. From established pairings returning for another round to fresh collaborations that have us raising our eyebrows in curiosity, GMMTV seems determined to keep our watchlists overflowing.
And honestly, I’m not complaining!
There are quite a few interesting concepts this time around, ranging from supernatural romances and complicated love stories to workplace relationships, school romances and even a rather unusual pineapple plantation setting. Yes, you read that right!
With so many titles to get through, I’ve decided to divide the lineup into two parts. For this first instalment, we’re looking at 16 shows that caught my attention. Some have familiar faces that I’m always happy to see together, while others have concepts that I’m genuinely curious about.
So, without further ado, let’s get started!
1. Lost in Your Eyes
Starring: Namtan Tipnaree & Film Rachanun
Namtan and Film are back together, and this time, they’re stepping into a suspenseful GL story that promises more than just romance.
The story follows Plum, who is assigned to protect an important individual. However, her responsibilities become considerably more complicated when she is also tasked with protecting that person’s secretary. As she finds herself getting increasingly involved in the life of the person she’s supposed to safeguard, professional obligations begin to clash with personal feelings.
Now, falling for someone you’re supposed to protect is probably not the best career decision, but when has love ever been particularly sensible?
I’m quite interested in seeing Namtan and Film explore this kind of storyline. Their pairing has already given us plenty to appreciate, and a suspense-driven narrative could provide an interesting change of pace. I’m hoping the series gives equal attention to the mystery and the romance rather than allowing one to overshadow the other.
2. Pineapple Leaf Blade
Starring: Tay Tawan and New Thitipoom
Well, this is certainly not a setting I was expecting to see in a GMMTV romance!
Pineapple Leaf Blade takes us to a pineapple plantation in Hawaii, where a group of men leave their hometowns in search of work, only to find themselves trapped in an exploitative working environment. With their passports confiscated and their freedom restricted, they must rely on one another as they struggle to escape their circumstances and reclaim their lives.
Amidst the hardships, relationships develop, and the story explores the bonds that form between people who find themselves fighting for the same freedom.
Tay and New returning together is already enough to make fans curious, but the premise itself is what really caught my attention. This doesn’t sound like your usual light-hearted romantic comedy, and I’m interested to see how GMMTV handles such a serious subject.
Also, a pineapple plantation? I have questions, and I’m hoping the series gives us some interesting answers!
3. Stalemate
Starring: Great Sapol and Bright Rapheephong
Childhood friendships, family rivalries, business empires and forbidden feelings? Stalemate appears to have quite a few ingredients for an intriguing romantic drama.
The story revolves around Victor and Jump, two childhood friends whose lives take an unexpected turn following the deaths of their fathers, who were once close business associates. With their families now caught in a bitter corporate rivalry, the two young men find themselves pushed to opposite sides of a battle neither of them originally wanted.
What makes matters more complicated is that their relationship is far from what everyone sees on the surface. While they are expected to act like enemies in public, their shared past and lingering feelings make it difficult to completely turn against each other.
Great and Bright taking on this pairing is an interesting development. The corporate rivalry angle, combined with the idea of childhood friends being forced into opposing positions, has plenty of potential. I’m particularly curious about how the series will balance the business drama with the romance.
And considering the title, I wonder whether these two will eventually find a way to win without having to defeat each other. Now that’s a game I’d like to watch!
4. A Season to Remember
Adapted from the web novel “Triwatcharakan” (ตรีวัชรกาล) by coconutpie, maggie mae, and purepudding (สามโสภา).
Starring: Earth Pirapat, Mix Sahaphap, Boun Noppanut, Prem Warut, First Kanaphan & Khaotung Thanawat
If there’s one project that immediately stands out because of its cast, it’s A Season to Remember.
Bringing together several familiar faces, this series revolves around three brothers from a royal family and their respective romantic journeys. Set against the changing seasons of summer, the rainy season and winter, the story explores three different relationships, each shaped by its own circumstances, personal histories and family expectations.
With themes involving parenthood, past relationships, social status and family responsibilities, this anthology-style romance appears to have several layers to explore.
Now, can we take a moment to appreciate this cast? EarthMix, BounPrem and FirstKhaotung in one project is certainly an interesting combination. Add Singto to the mix, and there’s no shortage of familiar talent to look forward to.
I’m especially curious about how the three stories will connect and whether each relationship will receive enough room to develop. With so many established actors involved, expectations are naturally going to be high. Hopefully, the storytelling will be just as memorable as the cast!
5. Love After Class
Adapted from the web novel “Matthayom Phop Rak (มัธยมพบรัก) by m moon.
Starring: Almond Poomsuwan, Progress Passawish
School romances are hardly new territory for GMMTV, but I’m always willing to give a fresh pairing a chance, especially when the premise involves two personalities that don’t exactly see eye to eye.
Love After Class follows Third, a student known for frequently arriving late, who decides to run for student council president. In an attempt to strengthen his campaign, he approaches Pope, a mathematics gold medallist, and tries to recruit him to his team.
Unfortunately, their personalities don’t exactly complement each other at first. Their interactions are filled with disagreements and arguments, but as they spend more time together, their relationship gradually begins to change.
This sounds like the kind of school BL that could deliver plenty of amusing moments alongside the inevitable romantic developments.
I’m curious about AlmondProgress and KeatonTor, particularly how their respective characters will bring this bickering-to-romance dynamic to life. A little academic rivalry, a little youthful chaos and a romance that develops unexpectedly? I’m certainly willing to see where this goes!
6. Beyond You
Adapted from the web novel “Phiang Khun Thi Yu Nuea Kwa (เพียงคุณที่อยู่เหนือกว่า) by Flower of Memory (ดอกไม้แห่งความทรงจำ).
Starring: Mim Rattanawadee & View Benyapa
View and Mim are bringing another GL story to the table, and this one appears to have a rather complicated foundation.
After losing her father, Mar returns home only to discover that he has left behind a substantial amount of debt. With her family’s property at risk, she finds herself having to work at the farm owned by Quest, the very person to whom the debt is owed.
What begins as a difficult arrangement gradually develops into a complicated relationship as resentment, power dynamics and unexpected feelings enter the picture.
I have to admit that the premise has me intrigued. There’s plenty of room for emotional conflict here, especially with one woman being placed in a vulnerable position while the other holds considerable power over her circumstances.
View and Mim have an interesting story to work with, and I’m hoping the series gives both characters enough depth rather than relying entirely on the usual enemies-to-lovers formula.
Because if there’s one thing I want from this pairing, it’s a relationship that develops naturally, with both characters having their own agency.
7. Starscope
Starring: Sea Dechchart & Keen Suvijak
Sea and Keen are returning with Starscope, a romance that seems intent on exploring second chances, unresolved feelings and the complications that come with revisiting the past.
The story follows Khiandaow, whose former lover, Korpakate, unexpectedly returns after leaving without any explanation. With unresolved hurt and unanswered questions still lingering between them, the two must confront the past if they hope to find their way back to each other.
However, the situation becomes even more complicated with the fear of losing memories adding another emotional dimension to their relationship.
I’m always interested in stories that explore former lovers finding their way back to one another. There’s something particularly compelling about two people who once shared everything having to figure out whether their feelings are still strong enough to overcome what separated them.
Sea and Keen have another opportunity to explore an emotionally layered relationship, and I’m curious to see how much angst GMMTV is planning to put us through this time.
Hopefully, we’ll get some beautiful romantic moments to balance out all that heartbreak!
8. The Spooky Love Tale
Adapted from the webtoon “The Spooky Love Tale of Gongchan Seol” (설공찬전) by YSE.
Starring: Mark Pakin & Ohm Thipakorn
A ghost, a horror novelist and an unexpected romance? Well, this one certainly sounds like it could be entertaining!
The Spooky Love Tale revolves around a horror novelist whose fictional ghost somehow finds its way into the real world, creating a rather frightening situation for both the writer and the reader caught up in the mess.
However, there’s an unusual twist. Whenever the two protagonists are together and their hearts begin racing, the ghost disappears. This peculiar discovery eventually leads them into an unexpected living arrangement, where fear, awkward encounters and romantic feelings begin to collide.
I’m particularly curious about this one because the premise has the potential to deliver both comedy and supernatural thrills.
MarkOhm and SingChimon are also an interesting combination, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the different dynamics play out. If the series manages to balance its spooky elements with a genuinely entertaining romance, we could have quite a fun watch on our hands.
Just one request, though: please don’t make the ghost more interesting than the actual love story!
9. Above Her Class
Starring: Waifha Chanitsiri & Tonkhaw Nonthakarn
Moving from supernatural romance to the world of aviation, Above Her Class introduces us to another GL pairing with an interesting class-difference storyline.
Sky is a scholarship student aspiring to become a flight attendant. Her circumstances lead her to team up with Eva, the daughter of an airline tycoon, during an important assessment.
Coming from very different backgrounds and having contrasting ambitions, the two women initially have plenty to navigate. However, as they work together and begin understanding each other’s dreams and struggles, their relationship gradually develops into something more meaningful.
I like the idea behind this one. The aviation setting offers something a little different, while the contrast between the two protagonists provides plenty of opportunities for character development.
Waifha and Tonkhaw also have an interesting pairing to explore, and I’m hoping the series doesn’t simply focus on the differences in their social backgrounds. I’d love to see both women challenge each other, grow individually and eventually find common ground.
10. Pit Stop
Starring: Ohm Pawat & Ing Asavanund
If fast cars, competitive spirits and complicated relationships are your thing, Pit Stop might be worth keeping an eye on.
The story follows Ray and Victor, two aspiring racers competing for the opportunity to become their team’s leading driver. During the selection period, the two find themselves sharing living quarters, giving their rivalry an entirely new dimension.
As they compete for the same position, they must also deal with family conflicts, personal secrets and the complicated feelings that gradually emerge between them.
I like that the series takes us into the world of competitive racing, which gives the story a different backdrop from the usual school or workplace romance.
Ohm and Ing are an intriguing combination, and I’m interested in seeing how their characters interact. The rivalry could make for some entertaining moments, particularly if neither is willing to back down.
I’m also curious about how the family drama will influence the central storyline. There’s certainly potential here for a gripping mix of competition, emotional conflict and personal growth.
11. Love’s Echoes
Starring: Mewnich Nannaphas & Jaoying Krongkwan
Some love stories are about finding each other, while others are about finding your way back after life takes an unexpected turn. Love’s Echoes appears to belong to the latter category.
The story follows New, who disappears from an important meeting after an illness changes the course of her life. Ten years later, she returns, carrying the consequences of her past and struggling with hearing difficulties.
Her return brings back memories of a relationship once connected through music, forcing the two women to confront the feelings and promises that were left unresolved.
This sounds like an emotionally driven GL, and I’m already curious about how the series will handle its themes of separation, memory, music and second chances.
Jaoying and Mewnich have an interesting story ahead of them, and I hope the production gives their characters the emotional depth this premise deserves.
I’m particularly looking forward to seeing how music becomes part of their journey. After all, sometimes the things we cannot say out loud are the very things that remain with us the longest.
12. Saran Wants You!
Adapted from the web novel “Khun Saran Ha Khu” (คุณสราญหาคู่) by Wan Kling (วาฬกลิ้ง)
Starring: Off Jumpol and Gun Atthaphan
Now, here’s a pairing that needs very little introduction!
Off and Gun are back together in Saran Wants You!, and this time, they’re bringing us a romantic comedy involving a wealthy heir, a fake marriage and an arrangement that might become a little too real.
The story follows Ran, a wealthy young man who wants to avoid the marriage his father has arranged for him. His solution? Enter into a fake marriage with Lom, an engineer working at his company.
The agreement is fairly straightforward: they can end the marriage once either of them finds someone they genuinely want to be with. Unfortunately, as they spend more time together, their pretend relationship begins developing into something neither had originally planned.
Well, we all know how these arrangements tend to go. The contract says one thing, but the heart has other plans!
Off and Gun returning with another romantic comedy is definitely something fans will be looking forward to. The fake-marriage trope offers plenty of opportunities for hilarious situations, awkward domestic moments and, eventually, some rather obvious romantic complications.
I’m hoping we get plenty of their trademark chemistry and playful interactions. After all, what’s a fake marriage without a few moments that make everyone wonder who is actually fooling whom?
13. Shrimply Mine
Adapted from the web novel “Ya Ma Yu Kap Kung” (อย่ามาอยู่กับกุ้ง) by theneoclassic.
Starring: Kin Thanachai & Barcode Tinnasit
The title alone is enough to make me curious, but Shrimply Mine has a rather unusual romantic premise to go along with it.
The story follows Gun, a university student who struggles to sleep unless someone else is beside him. His casual approach to companionship often leads to misunderstandings on campus, and he has never particularly been interested in having a serious relationship.
However, things begin to change when he finds himself wanting to share his sleeping space with one particular person rather than just anyone.
And suddenly, what was once a casual arrangement begins to take on a very different meaning.
Barcode and Kin are teaming up for this campus BL, and I’m curious to see how they approach the storyline. The premise could easily lend itself to some amusing situations, especially with a protagonist whose sleeping habits seem to be creating quite a few complications.
I’m also interested in seeing how the series develops the emotional side of the relationship. There’s a difference between simply wanting someone around and actually wanting that particular person to stay.
Let’s see how this one unfolds!
14. Kiss Me, Stranger
Starring: Pahn Pathitta & Fond Natticha
A million baht accidentally transferred to the wrong person? Now that’s certainly one way to begin a romantic story!
Kiss Me, Stranger follows two women whose lives become unexpectedly connected after a million baht is mistakenly transferred to the wrong account.
What begins as an attempt to recover the money gradually develops into an unusual connection between two strangers. As their interactions continue, the situation opens the door to new experiences, unexpected feelings and perhaps a fresh start for both women.
I’m quite intrigued by this premise because it takes an everyday mistake and turns it into the beginning of a romantic journey.
Pahn and Fond have an interesting opportunity here, and I’m curious to see how their characters will navigate this rather unusual introduction.
Of course, I’d imagine getting a million baht back is going to be a little more complicated than simply sending a text message, but perhaps love will make the whole situation worthwhile!
15. Billionaire Biker
Adapted from the web novel “Phi Win Roi Lan Kap Wan Chai Kluea Samut” (พี่วินร้อยล้านกับหวานใจเกลือสมุทร) by PrinceLeia.
Starring: Save Saisawat & Franc Naruth Prateeppavameta
We are ending Part I with a romantic comedy that sounds like it could deliver plenty of entertaining misunderstandings.
Billionaire Biker follows a young man who mistakenly approaches someone as though he were a motorcycle taxi driver. What begins as an awkward encounter eventually leads him into an unexpected job: impersonating the CEO of a company.
The actual company president is keeping his identity under wraps, and the young man finds himself caught up in a rather unusual arrangement. As the two share this secret, their relationship begins to develop into something more complicated than either might have anticipated.
I’m already curious about how this situation is going to play out. Pretending to be a CEO is one thing, but keeping up the act while developing feelings for the real person behind the arrangement sounds like a recipe for chaos!
Save and Frank have an interesting romantic comedy to work with, and I’m hoping the series makes the most of its mistaken-identity premise.
It might not be the most conventional way to meet someone, but then again, conventional beginnings don’t always make for the most entertaining love stories!
Final Thoughts
And that’s a wrap for the first 15 titles in GMMTV’s latest lineup!
Looking at these projects, there’s certainly a lot of variety to appreciate. We have everything from supernatural romances and corporate rivalries to second-chance love stories, school relationships, workplace complications and some rather unusual premises involving pineapple plantations and fake CEOs.
What particularly interests me is the mix of familiar pairings and new combinations. While it’s always exciting to see established couples return with another project, I’m equally curious about the fresh collaborations and the opportunities they bring for actors to explore different characters.
Of course, having an interesting premise is only half the battle. What ultimately matters is how well these stories are written, how the characters develop and whether the chemistry translates from the promotional material to the actual series.
There are already a few titles on this list that have caught my attention, and I’m looking forward to seeing which ones live up to their initial promise.
But we’re not done yet!
There are still plenty of titles to explore in Part II, including more BL and GL projects that deserve their own spotlight. So, if you thought this first batch was exciting, just wait until we get to the rest of the lineup!
Which of these 15 shows are you most excited about? And are there any pairings you’re particularly looking forward to seeing? Let me know in the comments!
