Yaoi is the name given to “Boy on Boy” romances with raunchy and comedy scenes that are too much for dramatic novels or manga to have without a censor. Recently, creators of Boys’ Love series all over the world have seen the importance of including Yaoi factors in their series. The reasons are to reach a larger audience through the new options these aspects create in their works. Taking facets of the genre and adding them to the BL has become the standard. Attractive fathers, zany and beautiful friends and their large, serious boyfriends (seme) are a few of these details you can find in “Naughty Babe”. Evil and equally attractive villains are there to keep the drama never too far from the viewer’s minds. All these ingredients together make “Naughty Babe” work as it includes every feature of the Yaoi genre’s most popular characteristic.

“My Dear Gangster Oppa” First Impressions (Ep.1 & 2)
The unspoken world of bars, guns, knives and mysterious shy boys is the one that the new Boys’ Love drama “My Dear Gangster Oppa” consists of. Like “KinnPorsche”, the drama is as simple as a man taking stock of the different cuts and bruises running down his body; you could miss it at first. But instead the storyline focuses on a shy college student named Guy (Ping Krirttanun) in love with his best IRL friend Wahl (Winner Tanatat). Then there is the tall, attractive Tew(Meen Nichakoon), a bar owner with beautiful hosts and a man of few words. The dichotomy of the two characters & their lives shouldn’t work. With fully C.G.I. rendered game play of the massive online game they play along with their online friends, it’s clear the two storylines, the people and situations that populate them blend into each other and that is the world of “My Dear Gangster Oppa”. A unique take on the webtoon “My Ideal Relationship” by Ken.

“Only Friends” Series Review (Ep.3 to 12)
Not one of these characters lied is something that one can say about the cast of this twelve episodes drama. The powerful show that showcased a group of friends who would have been happier if they never met came to its conclusion recently. As the characters make decisions that decide their “Happy or Not So Happy Endings” with surprising clarity, many fans were on the edge of their seats, every Saturday, waiting to see what comes next.
“Love in Translation” Series Review (Ep.3 to 8)
“Love in Translation” is one of those BL dramas that I would definitely recommend to everyone. Am I saying this because it is a big production series? No. I will recommend it because I genuinely liked what the show was about. Only 10% of the BL shows released every year have a decent storyline that actually teaches us something valuable instead of just normal college life love stories and this is one of the dramas. The romantic aspect of the drama was nice, well-paced and not very cringeworthy (to be honest). It gave me a slice-of-life feeling, with the overall drama and romance developed on perfect pace in my point of view.

“Absolute Zero” First Impressions (Ep.1 & 2)
Studio Wabi Sabi’s new adaptation “Absolute Zero” premiered on IQIYI last week to high expectations; depicting the story of Ongsa and his boyfriend Suansoon on altering time-lines. “Crazy Handsome Rich” Series Review (Ep.3 to 6)
This was a tough series to watch due to the dreadful dubbing, but I held out and was pleasantly surprised with how cute and funny it was. The actors are amazing, it’s just that they were dealt with a bad scripts and direction. Frank Thanatsaran looked awful with the fake wig. With this kind of talent on hands, I was disappointed in the overall ambience of the show.

Joke agrees to help him on one condition, which is to get him a place in the debate club, of which Zo is already a member.
“Be Mine SuperStar” Series Review (Ep.1 to 12)
If you spend more than a nanosecond of time analyzing this series, you will find it so logically implausible with the story so full of holes that literally makes no sense, it will make your head spin. But if you watch it merely for pure entertainment value and put yourself on the couch with ‘Grandma’ and watch it as a Soap Opera, you will love it. I loved it, so I guess I sat next to Grandma. (You will get the reference if you watch the series. I do wish she had a bigger role. She was so entertaining). In general, there are two main characters, two more or less minor characters, and a slew of supporting characters, one of whom really steals the series, while others should have been written out of the series or actually never written in.

“Be My Favorite” Series Review (Ep.1 to 12)
This story is one of the most remarkable BLs in redefining the concept of what love is or at lease perceived, especially how we see it between men. It re-conceptualizes its beauty, enhances its endurance, redefines intimacy, and solidifies the virtue of a relationship. And it does this all through the magic of fantasy. This narration broke down all the traditional stereotypical Thai BL stories and told a saga so deeply personal and profoundly moving that you became a part of its journey.
