“Love Sea The Series” First Impressions (Ep.1 & 2)
Thai BL series have fully embraced the Yaoi elements with the 2024’s batch of series. We had shows like “House of Stars”, “Playboyy” and “Only Friends” which compensated for a lack of quality script or good acting by some of the cast with the sensuality, a heavy lean on sexual situations, or brevity by characters who originally presented themselves as cool serious personas; doing outrageous and funny things that somehow worked in the mini universes the series created.

Weekend Exclusives
Just when we thought the BL/GL world was on a upwind, the said genre startled us with another outpour of new dramas/updates. However insignificant they might, they are adding to the current taciturn, and we can look forward to some blissful months ahead!
“Sparks Camp Season Two” First Impressions (Ep.1 & 2)
Black Sheep and ABS-CBN Studios are back with the second season of their queer reality dating series Sparks Camp. Beating major competition from their Korean counterpart, “His Man Season Three”, Sparks Camp 2 has grown bolder and versatile. The contestants this season seem much more mature and yet vulnerable; that’s as real as it gets on reality television. They had some interesting stories to share and I like the Season Two contestants far better than the prequel; it could be because of the slight change in the format too. Most dating shows follow a formulaic concept, tried and tested, which gets boring as time passes. The first two episodes had some surprising elements, so let’s get down to the business of reviewing. After all, “First Impressions” are important!

Midweek Updates
After a peaceful weekend, we saw a sudden influx of announcements and fresh updates. Even though the Pride Month is over, the BL/GL world is keeping the spirit alive. In the midst of the sudden downpour, let’s sit for a tell-a-tale.
“AM I OK?” Movie Review
“Am I OK?” is a late “coming of age” story about friendship and self-discovery and tackles the agonies of coming to terms with yourself at a later age. Lucy (Dakota Johnson) is a 32-year-old woman who has an unfulfilling work and personal life, and relies on her best friend Jane (Sonoya Mizuno) who provides some structure in her life, despite her being controlling. “Am I Ok?” tackles the reality of a lot of gay people, who only come to terms with their sexuality once they are older, and it seems like they cannot do much about it because they have run out of time. Despite being 32, Lucy had never fully considered that she was in fact gay and was dejected and at peace with having mediocre relationships with men despite not fully enjoying the experience.
BL Mini-Bytes
Another huge slump and fewer updates as we come to the end of the Pride Month. As GMMTV gears up for another OffGun release, we can look forward to some early surprises.
