It’s been a long time since I thoroughly enjoyed a GL with solid characters & good storytelling!!

Alright, that doesn’t excuse Flint’s ridiculous behavior. There are times when you question her sanity. Arguably, as one of the hottest executives in town, who supposedly graduated with laurels from abroad, Flint’s common sense might put you to shame. Also, the way Sun easily forgives her discretions is offputting. And yet, their chemistry is compelling enough to grab your attention. Add a morally ambiguous twin sister, a long-lost ex-girlfriend who returns for revenge and we have a classic potboiler. The themes and concepts are quite formulaic, but the show keeps you invested by driving the narrative with mystery and romance. The storytelling doesn’t fall apart, despite the odd pacing in some places. You do find yourself irritated with the main protagonist, who is passive-aggressive most of the time. But Flint’s behavior becomes excusable, as her actions are driven by her insane need to protect Sun.

The Storyline & Chemistry-

Rising actress Sun Atita (Mersedes Siripath) has spent years nursing a secret crush on her best friend Fey’s (Jenny Pataravadee) elder sister, Flint Rafah (Atom Aphichaya). It seemed like they were on good terms when Sun was in school. At present, their status remains ambiguous as Flint is a powerful luxury car executive and Sun works as their brand ambassador. When Sun’s onscreen chemistry with a rising male co-star sparks viral shipping rumors, Rafah’s buried feelings erupt into jealousy. Things escalate out of control when leaked photos and suspicious sightings paint Sun in a negative light. Unable to control her jealousy anymore, Flint moves into Sun’s apartment to protect her. Initially, Flint doesn’t trust Sun, no matter how much she explains. But as they spend time together, Flint realizes that Sun has always been honest with her. In due course of time, it is revealed that Sun has an older twin sister, Jan. As suspicions are cleared and Sun reunites with her long-lost sister, her relationship with Flint is tested when Maya, Flint’s ex-girlfriend, returns. She tries her best to seduce Flint, but doesn’t succeed. To separate Sun & Flint, Maya pairs up with Nob, Sun’s notorious co-star who keeps spreading new rumors about their fake intimacy.

Atom & Mersedes have awesome chemistry, atleast for rookie actresses who were paired together for the first time. Atom has to embody a dominant character who has no qualms about her misjudgments. And yet, she is vulnerable when it comes to Sun. Mersedes does an excellent job portraying two different roles. As for Sun, it is obvious that she is head over heels in love with Flint. As Jan, she is daring & bold, yet calculative. The demarcation is obvious, and so are their feelings for Flint.

Final Impressions

The storytelling keeps you invested from the get-go. There might be slight mishaps or miscalculations, but that doesn’t dampen the mood!!

This is one of those few shows where even the supporting couple had a satisfactory chemistry. Fey is Sun’s best friend and her strongest support. She doesn’t shy away from rebuking her own sister when it comes to safeguarding Sun’s interests. Peach (Deviyabha Uddhachandra) is her perfect antithesis, and yet they make a charming couple. Overall, the storytelling is sharp, not entirely flawless, but the script offers an intriguing glimpse into unwarranted fan service that could make or break someone’s career!!
